The SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) captures the scientific influence and prestige of journals indexed in the major science database, Scopus. The SJR records how often a journal is cited and which journals cite a journal. Thus, not only the number of citations is taken into account, but also the influence and prestige of a journal, expressed through the influence and prestige of the journals that cited the journal. Quartiles are used to classify the scientific influence and prestige of the indexed journals: Q1 (highest quartile) to Q4 (lowest quartile). Even though Q4 is the lowest quartile, it should be taken into account that inclusion in the Scopus database requires a successful review process by Scopus in which the quality of a journal is verified.

The journal “International Journal for Research in Vocational Education and Training (IJRVET)” was reported in SJR for the first time in 2019. Although it was the first ranking of the journal, IJRVET directly reached Q3 and already in 2020 the journal achieved Q2. In the recently published SJR Journal Ranking 2021, IJRVET reached again Q2! It is thus situated in the same quartile as e.g. the journals “Journal of Vocational Education and Training (JVET)” (Routledge), “Vocations and Learning” (Springer) and “International Journal of Training and Development (IJTD)” (Wiley).
